Kebra Negast: A Book of Rastafarian Wisdom

I am a bit disturbed by the alarming number of space taken up by naked girls at the moment! I remember when GOTW only featured one or two girls....not that i'm complaining, but I thought it was time to do a post about something slightly more intellectual....

Now. I recently purchased the Kebra Negast: A Book of Rastafarian Wisdom by Gerald Hausman (foreword by Ziggy Marley) from Amazon. Leon's mum brought back a copy from Jamaica and I was intrigued to find out more about Rastafarianism and it's principles.

The book presents a new English translation of the centuries-old African interpretation of the Bible. The one thing I really like about this book is that not only does it give you the bible passages that reinforce what Rastafarians believe, but it explains them to you in a way you can understand. It also contains stories told by Jamaican Rastafarians about how these passages relate to their own lives or have influenced them.

Many people make pre-judgements about Rastafarianism, but you really should learn about things before you make an assumption about something.

The Kebra Negast is available from Amazon RRP: £23.95 click here.
